Professional programs

For the artists who exhibit, Juxtapose is a chance to meet and learn from colleagues.

Think Tanks

Before Juxtapose opens to the public, exhibitors gather in small discussion groups to explore different facets of the artist-run. See full program here

The Think Tanks program was developed in collaboration with Supermarket Art Fair and inspired by their Meetings program. Since 2023 the two programs have been in conversation.

Outings

Exhibitors from outside Aarhus can explore the city with outings to local artist-run spaces in the days before and during Juxtapose Art Fair.

Kubus Alba, Pakhus64, Huggeormen, and KH7artspace will host a campfire, an opening, an after-party, and a large dinner for Juxtapose exhibitors.

Artist, writer, and curator Trine Rytter Andersen will lead an outing to Riis Skov forest. This outing will be anchored around "Deep Time Stone Meditation" and "Sounding for the Ocean" - a performance that honours the ocean and mourns its destruction.

Visitors Program

In 2021 and 2023, our visitors program invited Nordic museum curators, gallerists and other art professionals to learn about the artist-run.

This year we focus on artist-run residencies. We have invited artists who run their own residencies to help us explore how Juxtapose can work with artist-run residencies moving forward.

Participants: Katy Morrison (PINK), Sarah-Jane Mason (Lacuna Festivals), Hannah Giese (AGERUP AIR), Rebeka Helena Blikstad (Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder), Abir Boukhari (AllArtNow)

This program includes a Reverse Q&A that flips the structure of a typical panel discussion. Here, the panelists will pose questions to the audience, with the aim that we all learn something together.
