Kulturmødet Mors

This August, Juxtapose Art Fair will participate in Kulturmødet Mors - one of the biggest cultural festivals in Denmark.

Using Juxtapose’s signature modules, we will build our own outdoor booth on the street, Munkegade.

Our booth will be a platform for three artist-run organizations from Northern Jutland: Skulpturlandsy Selde, f.eks., and Aalborg Artist’s Association (AAAA).

Skulpturlandsby Selde
Since 2014, the small village of Selde has been a site for experimentations with public sculpture.

At Kulturmødet Mors, artist Marianne Jørgensen will present Skulpturlandsby’s recent collaborations with local schools, and the upcoming project, Podehaven.

f.eks.

f.eks is an artist-run roaming contemporary art platform that facilitates critical dialogue between artists and publics in Northern Jutland.

During the festival, f.eks. co-founder Scott William Raby will facilitate a consulting session with Juxtapose Art Fair, examining the function, role, and value of art fairs in Denmark in relation to the artist-run sector.

Aalborg Artist's Association (AAAA)

f.eks. has further invited the Aalborg Artists' Association (AAAA) to present the collective artwork, 'Eliminate Artistic Poverty, Improve Working Conditions'. This socially-engaged project rebrands a Thy Classic beer with bottle labels that point to questions of class and social equity for artists.

Audiences at Kulturmødet Mors are invited to buy a beer and learn more about what it means to work as an artist in Northern Denmark - with proceeds supporting AAAA's advocacy activities.

'Eliminate Artistic Poverty, Improve Working Conditions' was initiated in 2022 by AAAA and originally curated by Anne Møller Christensen and Sara Løvschall Grøntved.
